My story

Our little family have been touched by Autism in the last few years. The last 3 years have taught us how incredible the people that are diagnosed with Autism are and what challenges they face each day. Simple tasks that many of us take for granted like leaving the house, going to public places, talking to people and general socialising can be very challenging and cause distress, anxiety and meltdowns.

This walk to raise funds is to show our love, support and solidarity to the incredible people that are Autistic. We also want to give our support to the families impacted by Autism that face dozens of small battles each day just to function. We have been incredibly lucky in the support and love we have received but we are all too aware that this condition requires long term understanding and awareness.

So to celebrate World Autism Acceptance Month, I have volunteered to walk from our house in Jackton to Eastwood Toll and back, which is just over 15km. Let's hope it doesn't rain!
