Organise a sponsored 5k at school to fundraise and show your support this World Autism Acceptance Month. You can take part as a class or get the whole school involved. It is inclusive for all ages and abilities (including staff and maybe even parents!) Choose your way to walk, run, wheel, scoot or even dance your way to 5k.

Organising your School 5K
- Sign up and register your school’s 5k here.
- Choose a colour theme for each class: this could be coloured clothes, decorations or even a colour run. Be as creative as you like. Set up a JustGiving page for your school here. You can use this or our downloadable sponsorship form to collect sponsorship.
- Plan Your Route: around the playground, sports hall, local park, or indoor circuit.
- Pick a date: it’s up to you whether you complete your 5k on a chosen day in April or spread the distance out over the month. You could even incorporate it into your PE lessons or break times.
- Learn & Share: before or after the walk, use our lesson plans or assembly pack to talk about autism acceptance.
- Fundraise Together: pupils could be sponsored per kilometre, for completing the full 5k or each class could walk part of the distance to make up the total.
- Complete your 5k and have fun: wear your chosen colour/s, decorate hats or banners, bring bubbles or sensory props.
