My story
I am an Autistic individual who works as a support worker for children with autism and learning difficulties. I am taking part in a walking fundraising for the National Autistic Society during World Autism Acceptance Month. I am walking 5K with the Autistic children in my workplace over April and a 22 mile hike down shropshire canal on my own on the 27th April.
💜 I'm walking because I work with Autistic children and see the challenges and difficulties they face and combat daily. I want the world to see their achievements and strengths and be proud of Autistic individuals like I am. Promoting acceptance, equality and awareness instead of judgment and stigma.
❤️ I'm walking because I am an autistic individual myself and understand the challenges and importance of improvements in awareness and services.
💙 I’m walking to help improve education for young autistic people.
💚 I’m walking to help improve workplaces for autistic people.
💛 I’m walking to help reduce loneliness and isolation among autistic people.
💗 I’m walking to celebrate Autism Acceptance Month.
Anything you can donate is greatly appreciated and will be going towards creating a better society for autistic people and their families. To read more about the work of the National Autistic Society, visit www.autism.org.uk
