My story
My name is Tommy and I am 5 years old. I am going to walk 5k in April to try and raise at least £100 for the national autistic society... about me...In 2023 I was diagnosed as autistic with learning difficulties along with hyper-mobility. I have received so much support from different agencies and my parents to ensure I thrive but unfortunately there is lack of funding for support in education, improvement in work places for autistic individuals and some also suffer with loneliness and isolation. Autistic children grow in to Autistic adults and the support needs to be consistent. Currently some children don't have a school place or access to the support they need.
By fundraising and supporting the national autistic society this ensures that they can continue to provide Autism assessments, telephone support and guidance, support adults and children in the community so they can thrive, funding towards Cullulm centres in mainstream schools so children have the right to an appropriate education, provide training for professionals across the uk, provide sensory spaces for autistic children and most importantly to provide awareness.
Now this walk is going to be a tough one for me with my hypermobility BUT I can do it and I WILL do it just to help that little bit! Lets try and get to the £100 goal! Thank you so much for reading! Love Tommy!
