My story

Frey is a 4 year old boy from Wigston, Leicestershire, who was diagnosed with autism in February 2024. This September, Frey is set to start school, a milestone that should be filled with excitement. Unfortunately, for us, it has become a journey of frustration and heartbreak. After being turned away by five schools in Wigston, we were left with no choice but to look further afield for a school in Leicester. The reasons given were disheartening: schools claimed they either didn’t have the resources to support Frey or simply stated, “We don’t have kids like that here.” These rejections happened without even a meeting or any effort to understand Frey’s individual needs. His diagnosis of autism alone seemed to be enough for these schools to turn him away. This treatment of Frey and children like him is wrong, and we want to make a stand. That's why we are doing this walk - to raise awareness about autism and to fight against the stigma and discrimination that so many children on the spectrum face. We are asking for your support, not just to help Frey, but to stand with all children who are wrongly judged and excluded. Your donations will go towards raising awareness, supporting Frey’s educational journey, and advocating for better inclusion and understanding for children with autism. Every step we take is for a future where all children are given a chance to thrive, no matter their challenges. Please donate today and help make a difference. Thank you for your support!
